The original Jan’s Tours & Travel Service first opened in 1969. In those days, Bali was well and truly off the beaten track; the airport had no lights, and its runway was so short that the first international aircraft arriving had to use parachutes to brake! Jan’s was one of the very first independent travel agencies to open for business on the island.
Since then, Bali has blossomed from one of tourism’s best-kept secrets into the world’s favourite holiday destination. Travellers came from far and wide to witness the unique customs, stunning artistry and natural wonders that make Bali such an enchanting place to visit.
For over five decades, Jan’s showcased the very best that Bali has to offer, uncovering new hidden gems and helping visitors experience the magic that first put this island on the map. In April 2019, on the company’s SO-year anniversary, Jan’s Tours & Travel Service decided to wrap up operations and take a step back.
